Jayda Cheaves, better known as Jayda Wayda or rapper Lil Baby’s girlfriend, started working her way into the industry while was in high school. Cheaves grew up in Savannah, Georgia where she influenced her peers and a large internet following. She was discovered by her former hair business called AmourJayda Hair which launched in 2016.
AmourJayda's Hair inventory consisted of wigs, bundles, hot tools, and hair accessories.
According to an article by Rolling Out, Cheaves profited 2.5 million dollars from her hair business at just 20 years old. She was one of the first Black girls to be known as a young entrepreneur.
Besides her hair business, Cheaves sold branded AmourJayda clothing. Once she figured out she would continue to succeed with her business ventures, she created a book called The Young Boss Blueprint which was a guide to help others become young bosses.
In 2018, Cheaves moved from Savannah to Atlanta, GA to continue her dreams. Not only was she known for hair and clothing, but she was also always booked and busy at club hosting.
The AmourJayda movement ended, but Cheaves is even more relevant nowadays. She is an Instagram influencer with over 6 million followers, and she is an ambassador for a popular clothing brand called Pretty Little Thing. She still participates in club hosting, but the price has gone up. Her net worth is estimated to be $4 million.
In 2021, she rebranded her previous brand AmourJayda and launched a business called Waydamin. Waydamin is a loungewear brand that was created for girls to be comfortable but fly. She wanted to create clothing that you could dress up for the club and dress down for an airport outfit. You can find cropped jackets, sweatpants, jumpsuits, long sleeves, and leggings that can be worn as sets. It was “Made to fit EVERYBODY.”
