When many outside of Arizona think of Phoenix, the first thing that comes to mind is the heat. And although, we do have some scorching temperatures, it’s not the only thing on the rise.

The Phoenix food scene is taking the state by storm, and we have one media company that’s telling the story of the food landscape in Phoenix.

Owners of Co-Media, a media company that celebrates the art of storytelling, Dabi Adeyemi and Lad Makinde, created Phoenicians Getting Food (PHX Getting Food) to connect the community with food and storytelling.

“We believe that stories are the fabric that connects business and culture, in our opinion, and the thread that binds the entire world together. What better way to do that than to add food to the mix,” Makinde said.

Season Two kicked off on Friday Mar. 31, with a private screening of the upcoming season. Many local chefs and restaurants were in attendance as everyone came together to share in the accomplishment of Season One. Some of the local restaurants included, Lasgidi Cafe, The Spaghetti Shack, and The Original La Canasta.

Season Two of PHX Getting Food will feature The Original Arizona Foodie, Diana Brandt, as she shares stories with some locals who are making a big impact in Arizona and across the globe.

According to Adeyemi, “Phoenicians Getting Food evolved from a passion project into a love letter to our home city through the lens of extraordinary people and tasty food.”

Season One, was created with Arizona Radio Personality and one of the hosts for Mega 104.3 Jamz, Lady La.

Each episode captures the heart and soul of Phoenix with it’s food, culture, and community. “One of the great things about the city is that there are so many entrepreneurs, restauranteurs, and artists moving into the city, they look at old buildings and say we can revive it and bring it to good use,” said former Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, in Season One of PHX Getting Food.
