Black History Month Feature: Grassrootz Bookstore & Juice Bar

By NaTyshca Pickett

One primary motivation for highlighting Black businesses is to address historical and systemic inequality in economic possibilities. Throughout history, Black entrepreneurs have encountered discrimination, limited access to financing, and unequal commercial possibilities. By aggressively featuring and supporting Black businesses, we help to address these inequities and promote economic fairness. This recognition contributes to the breakdown of barriers and the creation of a more inclusive business climate, helping Black entrepreneurs to gain attention, grow, and succeed.

For this feature, I present to you Grassrootz Bookstore and Juice Bar.

Did you know that there’s a Black owned bookstore in Phoenix? Grassrootz Bookstore and Juice Bar is the premiere bookstore for books created by Black authors. Along with it’s extensive book collection, Grassrootz hosts community events and activities for the whole family.

It's the vibe spot where you can go relax, get your organic juices, play chess, and meet somone you’ve never met before. It’s a place for us and by us, but definitely open to the public and all are welcome to come and check it out.

If you’re looking for a new book to add to your collection, before going to Amazon or Barnes and Nobles, check out Grassrootz Bookstore and Juice Bar. Also follow on Instagram and Facebook to stay connected.
