Black History Month Feature: Regina Lawless

By NaTyshca Pickett

One primary motivation for highlighting Black businesses is to address historical and systemic inequality in economic possibilities. Throughout history, Black entrepreneurs have encountered discrimination, limited access to financing, and unequal commercial possibilities. By aggressively featuring and supporting Black businesses, we help to address these inequities and promote economic fairness. This recognition contributes to the breakdown of barriers and the creation of a more inclusive business climate, helping Black entrepreneurs to gain attention, grow, and succeed.

For this feature, I present to you Regina Lawless.

To celebrate the launch of her new book "Do You: A Journey of Success, Loss, and Learning to Live a More MeaningFULL Life," Bay Area author Regina Lawless is inviting you to join her for an intimate conversation about her journey to recover from the sudden loss of her husband and how those lessons turned into her first book.

The event will take place Friday, February 9, in Oakland, CA.

This event will feature a Fireside Chat and Q&A with Regina, a Meet & Greet and Book Signing, and a special musical performance! Light refreshments will be provided.

Regain is also the founder of Bossy and Blissful, an online wellness community serving Black Women Leaders through courses, coaching circles, and retreats. We help high-achieving Black women find purpose beyond their paycheck to have sustainable success at work and at home.

About the book:

“Two years ago, at the height of my career as Head of DEI for Instagram, I lost my husband suddenly to a heart attack. In the wake of his death, I realized that the traditional blueprint for success that focuses on external measures and requires self-sacrifice and burnout is a dead end,” Lawless explains.

“Through therapy, journaling, self-reflection, and a series of adventures, I learned to live more fully and to find love again – with J Toney, which I outline in my new book Do You.”
