Black History Month Feature: Urban Waffle Coffee House and Waffle Bar

By NaTyshca Pickett

One primary motivation for highlighting Black businesses is to address historical and systemic inequality in economic possibilities. Throughout history, Black entrepreneurs have encountered discrimination, limited access to financing, and unequal commercial possibilities. By aggressively featuring and supporting Black businesses, we help to address these inequities and promote economic fairness. This recognition contributes to the breakdown of barriers and the creation of a more inclusive business climate, helping Black entrepreneurs to gain attention, grow, and succeed.

For this feature, I present to you Jasmine and Theo Pierre, owners of Urban Waffle Coffee House and Waffle Bar.

“We provide artisan styled liege waffles, coffee and waffle pops, crafted with a southern twist. We would love to participate in any upcoming events that you may have or ideas you would like to schedule for staff, parents and/your students. Feel free to follow us on Instagram for more information on our products we offer. So far, we have been to several campuses, markets, private events, and more  in the Valley, and it's been such a great experience.”
